Eliot wrote in his notebook that on the 25th of May 1962, he bought the asparagus from Harrods. On the same day he drew them on the panel and on the 26th, from 10.15 am until 6.15 pm Eliot painted Bundle of Asparagus, which is in the collection of the Yale Center for British Art.
